The ceremony opened with a tribute to Ezzatollah Entezami during which the guests observed a moment of silence in remembrance of the legendary actor.
Rashidi’s widow, Ehteram Borumand, invited the participants to watch parts of the play “Dictation” staged by Rashidi in Sangelaj about 50 years ago.
Rashidi’s children Leili and Farhad joined their mother on stage to honor the first winner, the Iranologist, mythologist, writer and translator Jalal Sattari.
However, Sattari’s wife, Laleh Taqian, received the award on behalf of her husband who could not attend the ceremony due to his poor health condition.
Mohammad Mosavat, painter, writer and theater director was the second honoree to receive his award on stage and said, “I really needed this award and receiving an award is a very good happening.”
The third and fourth awards were presented to filmmakers Rakhshan Bani-Etemad and Mojtaba Mirtahmasb for their “Karestan”, a documentary series on Iranian entrepreneurs.
