National Hafez Day

  • Iranians from all walks of life celebrated the National Hafez Day on October 11th in Hafez’s Mausoleum in Shiraz. Shiraz also hosted a variety of programs in honor of Hafez, which was attended by Vice President and the head of Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization Ali Asghar Mounesan, as well as provincial authorities, poets and fans. Hafez was a Persian poet. His collected works are regarded as a pinnacle of Persian literature and are often found in the homes of people in the Persian speaking world, who learn his poems by heart and still use them as proverbs and sayings.
