An introductory statement to the exhibit says, “Abstract art is an introspective dialogue or a personal perspective, conveyed by means of space, color and form, regardless of and free from rules and limits.
In abstract paintings, artists express themselves referring to their senses, memories and emotional associations, and offer a fresh perspective to the outside world.”
The display features paintings by Gholam Hossein Nami, 81; Mohammad Ebrahim Jafari, 77; Farideh Lashai (1944-2013); Pariyoush Ganji, 72; and Yaqoub Emdadian, 69, Borna News Agency reported.
Haideh Zarrinbal, 69; Abdol-Hamid Pazouki, 62; Maryam Salour, 62; Jila Kamyab, 60; Hossein Maher, 60; and Mostafa Dashti, 57 are other prominent contemporary painters whose works will be showcased.
Works by lesser known artists Sassan Nassiri and Mostafa Darrebaghi are also to be shown. The paintings have been selected by visual artist Parham Didehvar, 39, an award-winning photographer and graphic designer based in Toronto, Canada. He has taken part in numerous solo and group art exhibitions in Iran, Canada, France, Sweden, Brazil, Cyprus, and the United States.
A portion of the income earned on painting sales will go to charity. The opening ceremony on Friday starts at 5 pm to 9 pm. Visiting hours on following days are from 4-8 pm. The gallery, open all days except Saturdays, is located at No. 1, Hamid dead-end, Lesani Alley, Jebheh Street, Mahdieh Street, Elahieh neighborhood.
