Afarin Emami noted that the museum was selected by Iran’s National Committee in the International Council of Museums (ICOM) as it ranked ahead of its rivals in terms of eight competitive measure.
She added that this is the first time an Iranian museum topped in eight requirements.
Each year on the occasion of International Museum Day, Iran introduces a selection of its top museums, among which one would be introduced as the top one, Emami said.
The committee has defined 12 measures to compare the museums. The measures include educational effectiveness, collections, introduction, research and preservation, upholding technical standards, physical improvement, and visitation, among others.
Other measures, added with regards to the conditions of Iran’s museums, include managerial development, creativity, innovation, and resilience.
