Artworks by Iranian artists were exhibited in the United States and the United Kingdom under direction of Dastān Gallery.The works of two young Iranian artists were exhibited at the Art Frizes in Los Angeles, from February 17 to 20, 2022. The gallery made its first appearance in the Los Angeles Frizes to display works of Yosha Bashir and Hoda Kashi. Arthur Frieze is one of the most important contemporary art exhibitions in the world, which opened in London in 2003 and is currently being held in New York and Los Angeles.
Also a collection of works by Iranian artists in the exhibition space No. 9 Cork Street London is on display. In October 2021, Frieze launched Cork Street No. 9 as its first exhibition space in London to be a center for the presentation and introduction of international galleries. The new initiative is located in two modified townhouses and houses various exhibitions throughout the year.
Tehran-based Dastan Gallery presents 'Soft Edge of the Blade', the first in a new series of exhibitions at No.9 Cork Street in London, from 3February- 1 March 2022.
This free exhibition explores the ways contemporary Iranian artists handle and respond in their work to the many aspects of violence in the Middle East. From the more obvious forms of violence and insidious forms of "soft" violence afflicting Iranians today, including migration and diaspora, identity and gender, patriarchy and family, the weight of history on individuals or the use of the language of oppression in the digital age – 'Soft Edge of the Blade' offers visitors the opportunity to discover or delve deeper into Iran’s leading contemporary art scene.
