Iranian President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, in a meeting with a group of visual artists on Wednesday, described their creation as the manifestation of thought, wisdom and artistic vision.
During the meeting at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Raeisi said a work of art can convey the message of hours of speech and words of a book in just a simple scene and perpetuate that message for generations and ages.
Raeisi described another important feature of works of art as being translingual and transcendental, saying that “A work of art is expressive to any person, at any age, in any language, culture and history, and does not need to be translated or explained.”
Pointing out that the training and transfer of artistic abilities is another important issue to which artists should pay attention, the president clarified that artists should discover those who have artistic capacities and abilities and help them develop their talents.
Raeisi said the prosperity of the art economy is another important issue for the growth of art in society, adding that it is true that artworks cannot be priced but, in any case, the artist needs support to continue his activities.
During the ceremony, the head of the College of Art of the University of Tehran, Hassan Soltani, the head of the Iranian House of Cartoons, Massoud Shojaei Tabatabaei, painter and university professor, Ali Rajabi, calligraphy professor, Jalil Rasouli, and painter and university professor, Mina Sadri also expressed their views and opinions.
