The exhibition will open on December 20 and continue until January 19. It will be held in both online and in-person formats.
The exhibition also includes a selection of artworks by Derambakhsh which were on display during the summer.
A number of video clips will also be screened on the artist’s memories and two foreign artists will speak online about the late artist’s life and work.
He died on November 6 at the age of 79 due to complications caused by COVID-19.
Derambakhsh won numerous awards at international competitions including the grand prize of the Istanbul competition in 1990, the grand prize at Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun competition in 1998, and the grand prize of a Polish anti-war caricature contest in 2002.
He was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the 16th edition of the Image of the Year Celebration in 2019.
In 2014, he was conferred the Chevalier of Arts and Letters at the Embassy of France in Tehran.
Derambakhsh was the first Iranian artist in the field of visual arts to have ever received this medal, which is one of the most prestigious in the realm of art.
