The play is co-written by Arash Na’imian and Khosrow Pesyani, who are busy writing these days, they completely rewrite the original version of the novel.
Treasure Island (originally titled The Sea Cook: A Story for Boys)is an adventure novel by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson, telling a story of "buccaneers and buried gold". It is considered a coming-of-age story and is noted for its atmosphere, characters, and action. So far, many films and shows have been produced based on this novel.
The plot is set in the mid-18th century, when an old sailor who identifies himself as "The Captain" starts to lodge at the rural Admiral Benbow Inn on England's Bristol Channel. He tells the innkeeper's son, Jim Hawkins, to keep a lookout for "a one-legged seafaring man". A former shipmate named Black Dog confronts The Captain about a chart. They get into a violent fight, causing Black Dog to flee. The Captain, proper name Billy Bones, suffers a stroke. That night, Jim's father dies suddenly. A few days later, a blind beggar named Pew visits the inn, delivering a summons to Bones called "the black spot".
All the members of "Bazi" theater troupe will act in this show and some guest actors will be invited as well. The show is scheduled to run this fall, more details will be announced in the future.
Before the pandemic, Atila Pesyani had directed the show "Gajri Coffee" in the main hall of the City Theater Complex, but the closure of the halls prevented the continuation of the performance of this work.
