Although Afra, also known as ‘The Day Passes’, is a realistic story, it can also be considered an allegorical story since each character represents a social class.
The story is centered on a young female teacher named ‘Afra’ from a low-income family whose mother works as a servant for Badr ol-Molok, a rich woman. One day when Afra goes to the house to stand in for her mother, Badr ol-Molok and her son trump up a story and charge Afra of stealing from their house.
