Queen Elizabeth Theater in Vancouver, Canada, which regularly hosts acclaimed operas and concerts, will be running a spectacular performance by acclaimed Iranian musicians in collaboration with Vancouver Opera Orchestra on Jan. 6, 2018.
Maestro Shahrdad Rohani will conduct pieces from prominent Iranian composers while Alireza Qorbani will be the group’s vocalist. The symphonic poem of ‘Hameh Iranam’ composed by Kambiz Roshan-Ravan is to have its world premiere in this concert. According to the venue’s website, Vancouvercivictheatres.com, Houshang Kamkar, Heshmat Sanjari and Hossein Dehlavi are other composers of the pieces. The Persian instruments will be played by Alborz Rahmani (tar), Ali Sajjadi (oud), Sayna Khaledi (santour) and Hamin Honari (daf and tonbak).
