-“Metropol Cinema”, a drama on a nostalgic theater in wartime Abadan, has won the Crystal Simorgh for best film at the 41st Fajr International Film Festival.
-Hungarian-American filmmaker George Paul Csicsery's 2020 documentary on the life of the Iranian math genius Maryam Mirzakhani reviewed on Sunday at the Iranian Artists Forum.
-The press meeting of the 41st Fajr International Film Festival was held in Mellat Cineplex in Tehran on Feb.10, 2023, attended by journalist and foreign guests.
-The Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance held a banquet on Thursday at Tehran's Azadi Hotel in honor of foreign guests attending the 41st Fajr International Film Festival.
-Iranian director Asghar Farhadi has been selected as the president of International Jury of the Luxembourg Film Festival.
-From screenwriter and director Hadi Sheibani, ‘Katvoman’ competes at 32nd Palencia International Films Festival, 10th Amnesty International Au Cinema pour les Droits humains, and 5th Positively Different Short Film Festival.
-The acclaimed Iranian films “World War III” and “Beyond the Wall” will be competing in the 51st edition of the Belgrade International Film Festival in Serbia.
-The Owj Arts and Media Organization, the IRGC cinematic arm, plans to make a film on Mehdi Zeinuddin, a young commander who played a key role in Iran’s first strategic offensive launched against Iraq on Majnun Island in 1984.
-“The Stranger”, an Iranian film that portrays the military life of IRGC commander Mohammad Borujerdi, scored a big win on Tuesday by garnering five prizes at the National Will Manifestation Awards.
Fashion
-The Fajr crafts festival inaugurated on February 15 in National Museum of Iran and came to an end on February 23 at Tehran’s Milad Tower.
Visual Arts
-High Line Nine Galleries in New York is hanging works by artists from Iran and Brazil in an exhibition at its Gallery 4.The exhibit entitled “Brazil x Iran: Colors & Forms” is curated by Roya Khajavi and Flavia Tamoyo.
-''Simple Life'' by Iranian photographer Mohammad Estaki has won the gold medal of the Global Photographic Union (GPU) at the 67th edition of the Maitland International Salon of Photography in Australia.
-Last week, Tehran galleries hosted 12 new exhibitions in various fields of visual arts.
-Works by Iranian artist Mehrdad Pournazarali displayed at Galerie Arts V12.
Music
-The Fajr Music Festival has announced a program for its 38th edition, which will take place in Tehran and 16 provinces from February 17 to 22.
Theater
-The puppet show Derakhshang written and directed by Alireza Aghaei, which is one of the productions of kanoon, will compete in the 7th International Children's Theater Festival in Karbala.
-Directed and dramatized by Nader Naderpour, "A Member of Parliament" show tells the story of an illiterate landlord who participates in the elections. The show will be on the stage until March 6 in Shahrazad Theater Complex.
Culture and Literature
-Garry Kasparov’s book “Winter Is Coming: Why Vladimir Putin and the Enemies of the Free World Must Be Stopped” has been published in Persian.
-The Iranian Cultural Days opened on Monday, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, to celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
-Bosnian writer Ivo Andric’s novel “The Damned Yard” has been published in Persian by Tadaei.
-“Letters to His Neighbor” by French novelist Marcel Proust has been published in Persian.
