Cinema
-An Iranian animation, ‘The Sprayer,’ written and directed by Farnoosh Abedi, received the Best Short Animation Award of the Diritti a Baschi, Human Rights Film Festival, in Italy.
-“Katvoman” directed by Hadi Sheibani was selected as the only Iranian film for the Festival International du Film Amateur de Kélibia.
Visual Arts
-Iranian impressionist painter Hassan Ruholamin has unveiled his latest work depicting Imam Hussein (AS) in his final farewell to his three-year-old daughter Roqayyeh (SA).
-A group exhibition of selected typography posters on the theme of Ashura will open on August 5.
-The memorial service of the late Habibullah Sadeghi, a veteran artist and painter, was held on Monday, August 8, at the Martyrdom Portico of the Islamic Revolution Art Center, along with a mourning ceremony and a performance by Seyyed Kamal Hashemzadeh.
-An Ashura visual exhibition under the supervision of Nusiba Sheikh Sefali will be held at Azadi Burj Gallery.
-Tehran City Beautification Organization unveils Sardis of the late master Hoshang Ebtahaj, the construction of which started two months ago, before his death, at Nima Yoshij's house.
-The works of a group of Iranian artists in different branches of art are displayed in Art Parisa Gallery.
-Last week, Tehran galleries hosted 17 new exhibitions in various fields of visual arts.
Theater
-Iranian branch of Unima ( Mubarak Unima) announces the winner of the open call that they made. The topic was Shahnameh and the making of Rostam's puppet.
-The show Belly directed by Reza Pourkariman, which had been on stag last month at the Alborz Province General Directorate of Culture and Islamic Guidance, will restagein Tehran's Mehrab Hall from the last week.
-The play "Chekhov Sad" directed by Mohammad Rahmanian went on staged at the Iran Theatre Boutique.
Music
-Tjeknavorian, who on various occasions and under various pretexts revealed his devotion to Ahl al-Bayt, especially Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), staged and performed the piece "Shab Ashura" together with the Alborz Symphony Orchestra and the Iran Philharmonic Choir in.
-Swiss Ambassador to Iran in a message appreciated Iranian singer Homayoun Shajarian for his outstanding contribution in the field of culture and art.
-Homayun Shajarian and Ali Qamsari released a new piece called "Wake Up".
-Paneh Rodaki on the occasion of the arrival of the month of Muharram and the days of mourning for the martyrs; Imam Hossein (AS) hosted the "Ashurai Art" painting exhibition
-"Two Muslim Children", the fifth track from the ten tracks of the album "Nawahi Ashk 2" was released.
Culture and Literature
-Fifteen books developing the philosophy of the Ashura uprising came to Iranian bookstores last week during the days the country is commemorating the anniversary of the major Shia religious event.
-“Money Harmony: A Road Map for Individuals and Couples” co-written by Olivia Mellan and Sherry Christie has been published in Persian. Seyyed Mohammad-Baqer Gharavi Nakhjavani is the translator of the book published by Yazda.
-“Capitalism” by Paul Bowles has been published in Persian by the Ney publishing house in Tehran. Originally published by Pearson in 2006, the book has been rendered into Persian by Shirin Sadat Safavi.
-The iconic Azadi Tower in western Tehran was lit up on Sunday night to mark the event of Ashura, which fell on August 8 this year.
-At the same time as the mourning days of Sayeed and Salar Shahidan, Hazrat Aba Abdullah al-Hussein (AS), the Ashura mourning ceremony of people of culture, art and media held with the speech of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
-Hushang Ebtehaj, a top Iranian poet who wrote under the pseudonym of “Sayeh”, died from complications related to old age in his home in Cologne, Germany, on Wednesday morning. He was 94.
Architecture
-The book "Sustainable Infrastructure; Green Engineering and Design Guide" written by S. Barry Sarte and translated by Sina Razzaghi Asl and Zahra Khashai has been published in the Center for Studies and Planning in Tehran.
-The deadline for submitting articles to the "Second International Symposium of Children's Utopia" with the approach of a child-friendly city has been extended until October 10.
-The online session "Fourth Industrial Revolution in Construction and Job Opportunities" was held on Thursday, August 20
