Cinema
-Iranian filmmakers Elaheh Nobakht and Negin Ahmadi are on the juries of the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival, which is currently underway in the Bangladeshi capital.
-The Documentary and Experimental Film Center has renamed itself Documentary, Experimental and Animation Film Center to develop its productions in the field of animation.
-The film "see you on Friday" directed by Mitra Farahani as a French production, which narrates the correspondence between Ebrahim Golestan, a leading Iranian cinematographer, and "Jean-Luc Godard", a pioneer of the new wave of French cinema, will also be screened in the "Encounters" section of the Berlin Film Festival.
-The drawing ceremony of the screening table of the films of the 40th Fajr Film Festival was held for the media with Pejman Bazeghi at the Iranian Cinema Museum.
-"Amir Hassan Nedayi", "Akbar Nabavi", "Amir Reza Mafi", "Mehdi Nazemi" and "Masoud Soflaei" will host specialized sessions and cultural programs of the 40th Fajr Film Festival.
-Asghar Farhadi's “A Hero” won three awards in Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF).
-Iranian movies “The Apple Day” and “Deer” have been selected to compete in the Generation Kplus competition of the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival.
-Hamidreza Jafarian, President of the Cinema Organization of the Arts Center, held a press conference focusing on reviewing the activities and new cinema productions of this organization in the 40th Fajr Festival in the Arts Center.
-The Documentary and Experimental Film Center has renamed itself Documentary, Experimental and Animation Film Center to develop its productions in the field of animation.
-The Fajr Film Festival (FFF) announced the lineup of eight documentaries to participate in the 40th edition of the event. ’That Man Came by Bus,’ directed by Nima Mahdian; ‘Dying’ by Hojjat Taheri; ‘My Brother’s Gun’ by Kamran Jahedi; ‘Parsi Elementary School’ by Hassan Naqqash; ‘Soldier Number Zero’ by Mohammad Salimi-Rad’; ‘Tonight’s Homework’‘ by Ashkan Nejati and Mehran Nematollahi; ‘No One Is Waiting for You,’ by Mohsen Eslamzadeh and ‘One of My Dreams,’ by Mohsen Hadi will be screened at the festival.
- Iranian drama “Solar Eclipse” has won an honorable mention at the 34th Minimalen Short Film Festival in Trondheim, Norway.

-The movie "Hero" will be broadcast exclusively on Namava from Friday, 21 January , and will be available to all audiences.
-In the framework of the 14th International Minaret Film Festival of Bulgaria, the Iranian Cinema Night was held with the screening of the film "Turtle and Snail".
Fashion
The 15th tourism exhibition will be held along with the 35th National Handicrafts Exhibition, simultaneously, in an initiative to boost synergy among the two sectors. One of the important points of this exhibition is that it will host global and national cities and villages of handicrafts.The exhibition will be held from January 29 to February 1 in the Tehran International Exhibition Center.
Visual Arts
-The official poster of the 14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival was unveiled in a ceremony on Monday.Iranian graphic illustrator Masoud Nejabati designed the poster.
-The "Mirrored Reflections" exhibition was inaugurated on January 19 with the presence of artists and cultural and artistic officials at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tehran. This exhibition, which is dedicated to reviewing the developments of contemporary Iranian art from 1974 to 1984, is one of the side sections of the 14th Fajr Visual Arts Festival.
-The first RokhSet auction event was held at the Abbasi Hotel in Isfahan. The works were exhibited in four disciplines: calligraphy and painting, metal, pottery, and embroidery.
-Idea Cultural and Artistic Institute In order to analyze and review the Tehran auction from the perspective of art and economics, held a meeting with the presence of critics and art experts.
-Iran’s Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (Kanoon) will celebrate the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics by organizing a painting exhibition.
-The Afro-Asian Institute Graz is playing host to an exhibition of photos by Iranian photographer Azam Shadpur. The exhibit titled “The Charm of City” is featuring photos of the urban spaces of Graz she has taken during her three-month stay in the Austrian city.
-A collection of paintings by contemporary Iranian poet, and lyricist Maryam Heydarzadeh is on display at the Baharian Gallery until 26 January. After All Those Regrets,is the title of the exhibition.
-Art Center Gallery is playing host to an exhibition of lithographs created by Hossein Zenderudi during the 1970s.The exhibit will continue until January 25.
-Ramin Sadegh Tehrani was selected as the top Asia-Pacific logo designer at WOLDA 2021.
-Last week, Tehran galleries hosted 32 new exhibitions in various fields of visual arts.
Theater
-The shows of the non-competitive section of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival were determined by the selection committee. 25 works were accepted by the selection committee of this section to participate in the festival.
-“Diego Maradona back to life” went on stage at the Neauphle-le-Chateau Theater in Tehran on Friday.
-30 shows will compete in the stage section of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival.
-The members of the selection committee for the stage section of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival were introduced.
-“Launcher 5”, a play on a martial story, was named as best play on Thursday at the 20th Celebration of Iran Critics and Theatrical Writers Societ
-The book of the play "bodies" written by Alireza Maroufi, which was recently staged in the Sāye Hall of the Shahr Theater, was unveiled in the Mashahir Hall of this collection.
-Of the four plays "Vincent Van Gogh's Yellow Wind", "Thirteen Short and Silent Plays", "Hor Riahi", "Alone Fleeing" and "Let's Go", which were published under the auspices of "Amareh", 20th January was unveiled in the Mashahir Hall of Shahr Theatre.
Music
-Romania’s National Culture Day ceremony was held in ECO Cultural Institute (ECOCI) , attended by a number of foreign ambassadors and representatives of international organizations.
-The winners of the various sections of the 15th National Festival of Young Music were announced at the closing ceremony in Tehran on Thursday evening.The closing ceremony was presented to the audience in the form of an online event from Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.
-A music album entitled, ‘Minim Pronics,’ featuring musical works of Kelariz Keshavarz, was released. The album consists of 22 improvisational electronic miniatures in cyclical form.
-Mohammad Al-Hayari Foumani, President of the 37th Fajr Music Festival, appointed Dr. Babak Khazraei as Secretary of Research, Dr. Saeed Mir Mohammad Sadegh as Secretary of Music and Media Award, and Dr. Muslim Nadalizadeh as Secretary of Song Award.
-Last week, Tehran hosted pop concerts, including Reza Bahram, Behnam Bani, Mehdi Jahani, and Sina Zakai.
Culture and Literature
-A total of 20,000 books, from publishers of 15 countries, will be presented at the International Section of the Second Tehran Virtual Book Fair.
- Nominees in different categories of the 14th edition of the Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Awards, Iran’s most lucrative literary prizes, were unveiled on Tuesday.
-A book series by an Iranian writer teaching children their personal and social rights based on information from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) has been published in English.
-The first volume of The Glass World, written by Alireza Bahrami has been registered in the Expo Museum as the first Persian-language reference about world Expos.
-American author Julia Phillips’ “Disappearing Earth” has been published in Persian by Ketabsaray-e Tandis. Fatemeh Rezai-Namju is the translator of the book, which was first published in 2019.
-The book "Glass World 2: History of the Expo from 1851" was registered in the Expo Museum during the visit of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance to the Dubai Expo.
-poster of the fifth edition of the "Arghavan" short story award with the theme of "lies" was unveiled.
-In the closing ceremony of the ninth selection of the best works of Iranian dramatic literature, the wedding ceremony of playwright and theater director Mohammad Rahmanian was held.
Architecture
-An online meeting on "Cultural Approach in Planning New Cities" was held on January 20.
-Webinar of "A look at the works and design process of professional architects" with a lecture by Alireza Mashhadi Mirza; Winner of the 2014 Chicago Award for Architecture and winner of the Fritz Hugger Prize of Germany; was held.
