The closing ceremony of the 40th Fajr Theatre Festival was held on Tuesday, February 15, at Vahdat Hall.

Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaili Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Mahmoud Salari Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Qader Ashena Director-General of Performing Arts, Hossein Mosafer-Astaneh Secretary of the 40th Fajr Theater Festival, etc. were present at the closing ceremony, which was held with limited capacity and observance of health protocols.

At the beginning of the ceremony, directed by Majid Tavakoli and performed by Hamid Torabian, after reciting the Quran and playing the anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a music video on the occasion of the birth of Amir Momenan Ali (AS) and a clip of the process with the message of Mahmoud Salari and Hossein Mosafarastaneh Was broadcast.

The ceremony after the speech of Qader Ashna, who played a video clip, commemorated the deceased artists of the theater. Afterwards, a clip of the Supreme Leader's remarks about the position and personality traits of Sardar Soleimani was broadcast.

After the speeches of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, a clip of the images of the revolution was played with the voice of Reza Roigari and his famous anthem "Allah Allah" and this veteran artist of theater, cinema and television came on stage to hold the honouring ceremony.

'Cold Times' was a work directed by Samira Soltani that won the special prize of 'Sardar-e-Vatan' (Commander of Motherland).
In the Sacrifice and Martyrdom Theatre section, 'Buckle' and 'Mesriyeh' won the prize, respectively directed by Reza Bahrami and Akbar Aeen. Bahrami donated his prize to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of Iran and for the betterment of humanity.
In Street Theatre section, 'Phone Booth' directed by Ariyan Khosravi and 'Verbosity of an Ownerless Dead' directed by Hadi Kiyani won the festival's prize.
Also, the Especial Prizes of the Fajr Theatre Festival went to Noora Hashemi for the best actress and Mojtaba Rostami-Fard for the best theatre direction. 
Prizes also were awarded to other contributors of the nominated works in various sections such as costume design, music, effects, etc.
