The movies include Return by Shahriar Pourseyedian, The Beekeeper by Mohammad Talebi, It Rains Slowly by Saeed Nejati, Genesis by Abtin Mozaffari, Forouzan by Mir-Abbas Khosravinezhad, A Few Knots Away by Mansour Forouzesh, and 6 Times Human by Pourya Dailar. According to the festival website Religionfilm.com, some of the short films have won awards in the past. It Rains Slowly received the Best Film award at the Nepal Human Rights International Film Festival.

From 450 submissions, the festival has selected 62 films from 28 countries Including Algeria, Armenia, Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, Croatia, Germany, India, Iraq and Italy.  Selected films explore beliefs and values of younger generations, histories of migration and interreligious dialogue. Religion Today Film Festival was founded in Trento in 1997 as the first event of its kind dedicated to dialogue between cinema and religions. It covers three categories of feature films, documentaries and short films.
