Directed by Iranian filmmaker Qorban Mohammadpour, ‘The Devil’s Daughter’ is the director’s second co-production with an Indian partner after his 2016 movie ‘Salaam Mumbai’.
Last week Mohammadpour said the cast has been selected and would be announced later. According to the Telegram channel of Cinema Daily, the Indian actor Jackie Shroof is one of the actors win the film.
Shroof, 66, has performed in over 220 movies playing a variety of roles over four decades.
According to the synopsis of Devil’s Daughter, it is the story of one of the devil’s children who repents for disobeying God and wants to be forgiven. As penance for her sins, she should go and find a truly innocent human being and bow down before him or her.
The film will have Iranian and Indian cast and crew.
Mohammadpour’s ‘Salaam Mumbai’ was one of the bestsellers in Iran in 2016. Featuring Mohammad Reza Golzar and Dia Mirza in the leading roles along with Poonam Dhillon, Dalip Tahil, Gulshan Grover and Benyamin Bahadori, the melodrama made over 146 billion rials ($3.2 million) in Iran.
