In the bitter social drama, a female social activist and journalist who opposes eye-for-an-eye justice is viciously attacked with acid by a would-be suitor from a criminal gang, ISNA reported.
Maryam Palizban, Navid Mohammadzadeh and Baran Kosari head the cast. The movie has so far attended many international film festivals in Berlin, Shanghai, Vancouver and Stockholm and won awards.
The Cinematheque will also be screening the Iranian feature film ‘Nahid’, directed by Ida Panahandeh, next month following its monthly program ‘Contemporary Iranian Cinema’, based on which every month an acclaimed Iranian film is shown.
