‘No Date, No Signature’ has been selected as one of the two Iranian representatives at the Horizons section of the 74th Venice Film Festival, August 30-September 9, cinematicket.org reported.
It premiered at the 35th Fajr Film Festival in February and won the best director award. It is Jalilvand’s second feature film and tells the story of a forensic doctor who comes across a corpse he knows from the past.Amir Aghaee, Navid Mohammadzadeh, Hediyeh Tehrani and Saeed Dakh play in the 104-minute film.Jalilvand’s debut directorial work ‘Wednesday, May 9’ won the INTERFILM award at the 72nd edition of the festival in 2015.‘Invasion’ the third feature film by Shahram Mokri is the other movie whose English poster has been unveiled.
In the crime drama, someone’s been murdered and the police are investigating in a stadium, the crime spot. They have arrested the murder suspect and try to find out the manner of the killing. However, the investigation gets complicated as the victim’s friends try to hide a secret.
Written by Mokri and Nasim Ahmadpour, ‘Invasion’ has Abed Abest, Babak Karimi, Elaheh Bakhshi, Pedram Sharifi, Behzad Dorani, aeed Zarei, Mohamad Sareban and Levon Haftvan in the cast.
Mokri gained international acclaim for his second film ‘Fish & Cat’ (2013), a mystery/horror drama which won many awards across the globe and suggested the advent of a technically talented filmmaker as the whole movie, running for 134 minutes, was shot in a single take.
Now, Mokri’s fans are expecting to see his new work which will be screened in the fall across Iran.
