The festival, sponsored by a Tehran Municipality cultural affiliate, is slated for July 31-August 5. The workshop is planned on the second day of the event, August 1 at Mellat Cineplex located on Niayesh Highway, adjacent to Mellat Park, Azad News Agency (ANA) reported.

Titled ‘What a Cinematographer Should Know,’ the workshop starts at 6 pm. It is organized under the auspices of Cinematographers Guild Association, one of the associations affiliated to the House of Cinema.

James is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC), an organization that offers membership to directors of photography only by invitation.

Since 1973, James has been either cinematographer or director of photography in over 30 films including Driving Miss Daisy (1989), Meet the Parents (2000) and Yogi Bear (2010).

International Urban Film Festival is organized by the Art and Culture Organization (ACO) of Tehran Municipality. Its main focus is on significance of city and urbanism in human life.

Secretary of the event is TV and cinema producer Seyed Ali Ahmadi, who also heads the Media and Social Networks Cultural Center in Tehran, affiliated to the ACO.

Foreign participants in the International Cinema category of the festival are from Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, UK, France, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Turkey, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Australia, Canada, Belgium and Austria.
