Kupal’ written and directed by Kazem Mollaei, won the prize for Best Film in the Feature Film Category at the 6th edition of the on-line Brasov International Film Festival & Market - the most important and renowned nonviolent film festival in the world, organized by Global Film Studio Inc., a Canadian company federally incorporated. The festival ended on September 24, and the event’s jury awarded 13 movies out of a total of 30 selected films from 20 countries, Mehr News Agency reported.
The festival, founded in 2012, showcases nonviolent films and demonstrates how those movies are not only capable of great international success, but are also in high demand. Kupal is the story of Dr. Kupal, played by Iranian-Armenian actor Levon Haftvan.
Just one week before the beginning of the new Iranian year, Dr. Kupal, who is a taxidermist hunter, encounters a strange challenge in his life. The movie is to compete at the 11th Buffalo and 12th Orlando International Film Festivals. It was first screened during the 35th Fajr Film Festival in February and has won several awards at international festivals.
Buffalo International Film Festival was founded in 2003 and takes place each year in October in Buffalo, New York. This year, the festival is to be held at North Park Theater, October 6-9. Orlando International Film Festival is an annual festival held in Florida and has become one of the premier and prestigious events for independent filmmakers. It is to take place October 19-26.
